Circle The Date
12/15: IceBreaker Tournament - With such a young team last season, it will be interesting to get a look at how far along the returners are from a season ago.
With healthy number of starters returning, and some promising newcomers joining the fold, Marlboro looks to be in position to have a bounce back season after winning 4 duals a year ago with a very young lineup.
The Mustangs will still be young down low this season, but they have a trio of sophomores who started as frosh a year ago. That trio, consisting of Harrison Gordon, Andrew DiLeberto, and Zach Vasile, all showed good potential, and with the year of varsity experience under their belts, should all be gunning to take it to the next level in 2019. Cristian Rial as been in the lineup for Marlboro each of his first three seasons, and will provide senior leadership to the young group. Also back for the Mustangs is junior Eric Lipovetsky, who is another one capable of getting to the next level this year.
Five starters return from 145-up, led by senior Evan Brown, a 19-bout winner who advanced to the Regions last season after placing 3rd at Districts. Also back for Marlboro are seniors Matt Weinstock and Christian Pittari, and juniors Edward Jang and Adam Mirza, who are all capable of hitting the plus side of .500 this year.
